PRACTICE AREAS

Florida Criminal Defense

I have been practicing criminal law in the State of Florida since 1994.   I have been an Assistant State Attorney, an Assistant Public Defender, and in private practice for many years.   I can represent you in all kinds of criminal cases that may have been brought against you by the State of Florida.  I choose to defend my clients vigorously and proactively and make the State of Florida meet their burden of proof at every step along the way.  I have represented clients in approximately 200 jury trials in my career.

I have an extensive background in criminal law.  I was a Florida State Trooper in Orlando, Florida, from 1987 to 1990.  I was a police officer at Indiana State University from 1983 to 1985 while I studied criminal justice.  I graduated from Indiana University in 1985.  I went to Nova University, now called Nova Southeastern University, for law school and graduated in the summer of 1993.

FEDERAL CRIMINAL DEFENSE

I was admitted into the United States District Court, for the Middle District of Florida in 1994.  I was admitted into the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit in 1998.  Additionally, I was admitted into the United States District Court for the Northern District of Florida in 2009.

I have represented clients in more than a dozen jury trials in the United States District Court for the Middle District of Florida.  Additionally, I have represented clients in the direct appeal of either their judgment or sentence.  The most common cases in federal court are drug cases.  I have represented clients charging with distributing or conspiring to distribute almost any kind of controlled substance you can imagine.  Other types of cases in which I have represented client in federal court, include but are not limited to sex trafficking, child pornography, marriage fraud, counterfeiting, and distribution of counterfeit goods/merchandise.

FAMILY LAW

I have represented clients in Dissolution of Marriage (divorce) cases, Custody cases, and various Modifications regarding a Dissolution of Marriage.  In these type of cases, I charge an hourly fee.
